UCS In Action

       
       UCS has completed the installation of Stadium Padding for the University of Arizona’s Hillenbrand Stadium (Varsity Softball Stadium). UCS representative Chris Chappell and the UCS Professional Installation crew installed the stadium padding on November 20th, 2009. The Wildcats received UCS Outdoor Stadium Padding with custom digital printed graphics (Shown Below).
        According to the Arizona athletics website, the customer was extremely satisfied with the job done. “I think the wall just looks better…it looks very nice and clean.” said Mike Candrea Head Softball Coach. This is a huge safety upgrade for the University of Arizona, as they have had several athletes over the past few seasons get injured making a play on the wooden wall. "I was never was a fan of the wooden wall," said Head Coach Mike Candrea. "We've had a few kids hit it pretty hard, and I just felt that it was time."

       The project provided several challenges for UCS to address including how to accommodate multiple doors that allow field maintenance equipment into the facility. With their in house engineers and on-site visits UCS was able to develop custom solutions that minimized exposed hard surfaces and still provided access to the field for heavy equipment.
      UCS Stadium Wall Padding consists of 3.75" thick panel manufactured out of 3" 100 ILD urethane and backed with a 3/4" thick exterior grade plywood. The panels are completely covered on all sides with our specially formulated 32oz knife coated vinyl material. Using the existing chain-link fence and frame UCS attached the panels using their locking anchor bolt system.
