LINCOLNTON, NC, October 20, 2010: UCS introduces a new concept in pit foam that will revolutionize safety pit training for gymnasts and action sports athletes. The concept for round, covered pit foam came to Olympic medalist Peter Kormann in a vision, he likes to joke, but it’s a dream come true for gymnastics schools that worry about injured athletes and spend thousands of dollars each year maintaining their foam pits. UCS Rounders are the industry’s first and only pit foam that eliminate sharp corners and flat edges with the flame retardent covers and innovative shape. The conical shape improves the flow of air in the foam pit resulting in a softer and safer landing. In addition to improved safety, the round shape degenerates slower than square foam, allowing UCS Rounders to keep their shape longer and minimize foam break off.
“We’re making this better, safer and more cost effective for gymnastics school owners,” said worldclass gymnastics coach Peter Kormann, a director of gymnastics and cheer products at UCS
UCS Rounders are available with or without a flame retardant cover that further protects the foam from breaking down. Foam covers eliminate pit dust and improve the life span of your foam pit, saving thousands of dollars a year in maintenance costs.
